Oh, The New York Times, if only you had been keeping up with your internet research, you wouldn't have thought that Charlie Sheen making a cameo in Wall Street 2 was nearly as interesting. As a matter of fact, if you wanted to know about Money Never Sleeps, the Wall Street sequel, you could have watched our video script review coverage and we would have told you about Sheen, Shia LaBeouf's character, Gekko's return - the works. As it is, The Times did get to talk to Oliver Stone as he wandered around Wall Street a week before he starts filming the sequel. Stone seems whimsical that things in the financial sector that never would have gotten press coverage before started getting noticed after his film. Both he and Michael Douglas (who will be returning to his Oscar winning portrayal of Gekko) say it's weird to have fresh-faced Wall Streeters tell them how the original 1987 film got them into the business. As far as cameos go, Sheen isn't the only one The New York Times is reporting: Another aspect of Wall Street that changed — the financial press — borrowed some of the glamour of the film’s subject. Jim Cramer, the hyperkinetic host of “Mad Money” on CNBC and a former hedge fund manager, who certainly did his part to alter the complexion of financial news, will make an appearance in the film. |
