Flu Vaccines Found Useless for Seniors

Flu Vaccines Found Useless for Seniors

The benefits of influenza vaccines on senior citizens have been "greatly exaggerate[d]," according to a major review of the evidence published in the medical journal Lancet Infectious Diseases.

Researchers examined prior studies on the effectiveness of the vaccine, and concluded that it is impossible to tell whether flu vaccines decrease winter deaths among senior citizens at all, let alone by the vast degree often claimed.

A commonly cited statistic is that flu shots lead to a 50 percent reduction in winter deaths among the elderly. But the study authors point out that flu itself is only responsible for 5 percent of winter deaths in that population, making such a claim absurd.

a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food
supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful,
etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would
be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a
chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos
or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal
tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with
unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and
it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also
contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a
little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment.About 20% can be
from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes
that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to
nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building
healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including
bean sprouts)and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are
destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.Green tea is a
better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink
purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes.
Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more
toxic buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or
eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein wall s of cancer
cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence,Essiac,
anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer
cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to
cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing
of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive
spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and
bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a
loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily,
and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen
therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

FDA Advises Seafood Processors About Ciguatera Fish Poisoning

Ciguatera Fish Poisoning

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) today issued a letter to seafood processors, advising them of recent illnesses linked to consuming fish carrying the ciguatera toxin, which has led to cases of ciguatera fish poisoning (CFP) in consumers. The toxic fish were harvested in the Northern Gulf of Mexico, near the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, which is located in federal waters south of the Texas-Louisiana coastline.

Tech And Retail Stocks Under "Microscope"

I've noted that when you are in this kind of uncertain market, everyone becomes a technician. There's a lot of attention now focused on tech stocks, now that both the NASDAQ and NASDAQ 100 have broken to 52-week lows.

For example: Google

Google Inc

501.71 UNCH 0%

[GOOG 501.71 --- UNCH (0%) ] needs to hold above this week's low ($488.52 intraday). Microsoft [MSFT 28.52 --- UNCH (0%) ] is barely above its August low.

Many heavily traded techs are already below support levels. Apple

Apple Inc

122.0 UNCH 0%

[AAPL 122.0 --- UNCH (0%) ] , for example, broke below support yesterday and is now at its lowest level since August; same with Bidu [BIDU 230.0 --- UNCH (0%) ] .

Unfortunately, Cisco

Cisco Systems Inc

23.08 UNCH 0%

[CSCO 23.08 --- UNCH (0%) ] is not helping. While the numbers were OK, during the conference call the company did indicate that there was a falloff in orders during January. Down 10 percent to a new low.

1) Retail sales. According to RetailMetrics, January comp store sales were up only 0.2 percent; first time since Feb-March 2003 with back to back growth below 1 percent.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc

48.83 UNCH 0%

[WMT 48.83 --- UNCH (0%) ] sales were up 0.5 percent, well below the 2 percent growth expected; also worse than expected were Limited, Nordstrom (down 5 percent pre-open), Target (who is forecasting February sales down 1 percent to up 1 percent), American Eagle (but they affirm their fourth quarter forecast), Pacific Sunwear (also affirms forecast).

Gap was a pleasant surprise. They beat by a wide margin: up 2 percent vs. a decline of 5.8 percent expected. Aeropostale (affirms fourth quarter), Saks, Ann Taylor were a also a bit better. Ann Taylor said, "To keep our inventories turning, we were promotionally aggressive during the month".

JC Penney also said sales were down, but better than expected; guidance is also higher than expected; up 6 percent pre-open.

Remember what we have seen recently: Talk about restructuring at Macy's, Talbots will close 100 underperforming stores, Freds is closing 75 stores, Hot Topic will open fewer stores, Charming Shoppes is closing 150 stores and cut 250 jobs, Ann Taylor will have fewer store openings, and cutting HQ staff.

2) Expect semis to be weak again as chip maker Infineon

Infineon Technologies AG

9.52 UNCH 0%

[IFX 9.52 --- UNCH (0%) ] reported revenue below expectations; the SOX (semiconductor index) is already at a 4 1/2 year low. Down 16 per-open.
